In 1973 Motorola was the first company to make an hand held mobile phone.
Around 1998 1999 not a lot of people had phones but they were slowly becoming popular. they had to reduce down the size of the phone battery as they wouldnt fit in peoples pockets.The mobile phone wasb used for receiving calls, now you are able to receive text messages, emails and loads more.

In 1969 Penn central equipped the trains that run along the 360 km new York route with special pay phones that would allow the passengers to call someone while the being on the train.
A antenna was placed in Chicago in 1977 which allowed users to travel and switch towers during a call.
in 1997 the nokia 6110 came out it had three games memory, snake and logic, it also had a calculator and a clock.

hello from Wesley college I am chloe Kavanagh, and I will be bringing you a blog about mobile phones. I will be going through the geography of phones and when they were first used.
A phone is used to receive calls over a radio frequency with in a telephone service area. In 1973 the first phone was demonstrated by john F Mitchell with a handset weighing 2kg. In 1981 they launched the Nordic mobile telephone system, in Denmark finland, Norway and sweeden. This is a picture of the first ever phone.
